The Journey Started Here. Well Kinda.
Sweet Home Alabama
A new start in 2013
Y'all, it really is Sweet Home Alabama. So many sweet memories here. I moved here from Bryant, Arkansas in June 2013. My daughter had just graduated high school and was headed to UGA in Athens, GA. And it would be JUST ME. Yikes! 2013 was such a roller coaster year. I left a job. Started a new one. Sold my house in AR. Found a house in AL. Went through a high school graduation (yay, she did it!). Then moved her to a new state and started her in college. We went on our first International trip- to Italy that summer. My beloved Golden, Brandi passed away after 10 years. And a year later we got another sweet girl, Miss Bailey. She has brought me so much joy. I could go on and on about all the life changes that year and all the ones up til now. That will definitely be a blog post in the near future!
Bham, you'll be missed.
Long before coming to Birmingham, the seed was planted. But this is the place God brought me to so that I could be watered and grow. It's amazing how He opened doors for me here and surrounded me with friends that have lovingly become known as my Runmily. You see in Birmingham, I was able to do something I never dreamed of. I ran Marine Corp Marathon!! I was surrounded by wonderful encouragers and the verse Phil 4:13 came to life. YOU LITERALLY CAN DO ANYTHING THROUGH GOD WHO STRENGTHENS YOU!! It's the place where my faith grew and the place where I learned to enjoy my own company. So as I prepare to say goodbye to the place I have loved the last 5 years, as I box up and sell many of my belongings, I know that He is waiting for me when I step off that plane in Rome.
The Journey Begins
Next stop, Italy!!
So here I go. Let the countdown begin. I feel called to pack 2 bags and head to Rome at the end of March. I am planning to get plugged into church there right away and will be helping with a missions trip in Naples. I am so excited I can hardly stand it! Stay tuned as I document this once in a lifetime experience that I am fortunate to have! I will be traveling throughout the country taking it all in, enlarging my tent, loving on people in need and growing closer to God.
Well, I did it!!! Check out these views!
